SMS Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Friendly (operated by the founding team) lets trade businesses send outbound text messages to their own customers — reminders, confirmations, and notifications. Friendly is the platform; each business is the sender and is responsible for consent. This policy explains how texting works and how opt-outs are honored.
How SMS Is Used
Businesses use Friendly to send their customers outbound, transactional text messages: appointment reminders, job confirmations, estimate and invoice notifications, and review requests. Friendly is not a marketing-blast tool, and unsolicited or cold outbound texting is prohibited.
Consent
The business using Friendly is responsible for obtaining consent from its customers before texting them, consistent with the TCPA and carrier rules. By enabling and using SMS features, a business confirms it has the necessary consent. Friendly provides the tooling to identify the sender and to honor opt-outs automatically.
First Message Disclosure
Messages identify the sending business, and opt-out instructions are made available to recipients, e.g. Reply STOP to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply.
Opting Out
Recipients can opt out at any time by replying STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. Opt-outs are processed within about 60 seconds, and the number is added to a suppression list that the sending business cannot override. Replying HELP returns contact information.
Message Frequency
Frequency varies by business — typically a small number of transactional messages tied to a specific job or appointment (a reminder, a confirmation, a notification). Friendly enforces per-business rate limits and may suspend access for abnormal patterns or elevated complaint rates.
10DLC Registration
Friendly registers messaging campaigns with The Campaign Registry. Registered use case: field-service customer communications — appointment, job, and billing notifications for trade businesses.
Privacy of SMS Content
Message content is encrypted, is not shared with third parties for their own marketing, and is not used to train AI models beyond what is needed to deliver the service. See our Privacy Policy.
Carrier Compliance
Messaging is monitored for compliance. Senders who generate excessive complaints or violate carrier rules may have SMS access suspended.
